Initiation Ceremony

Hi Again,

I need suggestions for a speaker at the induction ceremony. Please post them or e-mail them to me. According to our time line, we want this to be done and booked by April and I want to make sure the speaker is available and that we give the speaker enough planning time to come up with some inspiring words to bestow upon our new members and new exec board at the ceremony.

Thanks,
Kelly

Nominations Update

Hi Group!

I am glad I got into the Blog again- I was having momentary brain loss this past week and I forgot how to post! : ) But here goes...

I drafted an e-mail calling for nominations. It should be sent out to the listserve soon (Renae, I sent a copy to you because I believe you have that group in your e-mail? If not let me know and I can type in e-mails).

Also, if we can post it up on the bulletin board that would be cool too.

Renae, do you think that the other professors might have some good nominations as well? Do you think you could ask them in the Friday meeting. (Maybe this will help us gain even more support/involvement from them as well.) Let me know if you think that would be a good idea.

Everyone, let me know if you have any more recruiting suggestions. THANKS!

The e-mail looks like:

    Program Timelines

    Hey everyone,

I have some news. All of the program timelines look fantastic. Thank you Shannon, Carlyn, Jannelle, and Laura. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hand them out at the mentee/mentor social. The documents will need to be approved by the emphases chairs. This is why. These documents not only represent CSI but also the department so they have to be right. My understanding is that Kelli has approved the school document; however, neither Tom nor Alan have seen the other two. My sense is that we should wait to publish the documents until we have them all together.

I also wanted to put a process comment out there. I have noticed as we have all worked together this year that we tend to jump the gun a bit at times and create more work for ourselves and for others by not checking in or letting our nerves get in the way of our actions. This is hard on all of us. For example, going into the classrooms for the meeting times and not know about the rsvps for the m/m program. I think continuing to work on our communication will help with this so keep posting to the blog...Perhaps we need to set up some structure around programs and posting. Let me know what you all think. Talk to you later.
